Following the claims that were made by Kwa Zulu-natal provincial commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi last week, Brown Mogotsi came out to say his security has become severely compromised. This comes after Mkhwanazi accusing him for accessing classified SAPS documents, interfering in investigations and allegedly aiding the arrested Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala. Mkhwanazi also made public whatsapp conversations from seized cell phones that allegedly show a link between a member of a crime syndicate and the police minister.

When asked if he was a police officer, Mr Brown said, “No, I’m not a police officer. I believe at the right time and platform, I’ll be able to share where do I fall in this environment.” He also explained that the timing of Mkhwanazi was very inappropriate. “I spoke to him, I sent him a message last year, but only after the arrest of the five generals and brigadiers , he decides now to call a press conference.
In addition, you’ll be surprised that I think on Thursday last week, just before his press conference, he did talk to me, and spoke about the need to save the country and the fear that every policeman can now obtain a J-50 to arrest another policeman.”
When asked why he end up having SAPS information, he indicated that most the time information comes to him, and only the proper platform will allow him to diverge as to where does the kind of information come from.
